Clean Boats Clean Waters (CBCW)
Have you noticed Clean Boats, Clean Waters boat inspectors in blue t-shirts checking boats at the Wheeler Lake boat landing? Are you a volunteer or interested in learning more?
What is CBCW?
Clean Boats, Clean Waters is a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources program implemented locally at lakes across the state. Here at Wheeler Lake, trained inspectors perform voluntary boat and trailer checks, hand out informational brochures and educate boaters on how to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species.
What can you do?
Become a certified inspector! Contact us and complete the online training. Our WLA Intern, Grace, will walk you through the process.
For more information, scroll down to the calendar to find a time to meet with our WLA intern, Grace.
Learn more about how you can prevent the spread of AIS (e.g. disinfecting your boat).
How are we able to do this?
Wheeler Lake has received DNR grants to support our program. In 2024 we have a dedicated CBCW Inspector at the landing on weekends and during high-volume holiday weeks from May to September. WLA intern, Grace, will be leaving to go back to school August 16th.
